Maritime Company Art Print
This painting was created as a retirement present for the shipsmith on ELISSA, as he was also a military submariner. During the sail training year, I had acquired part of a retired sail from the ship - turns out, sailcloth is canvas, too! Taking the reference photo of ELISSA and the submarine and putting it to the right lighting was just challenging enough to keep it interesting. The canvas was rough and weather-beaten. Although it was difficult to work with, the texture of the sail showed through the paint, making the piece that much more special.
Art print of the original artwork “Maritime Company” by Ruth Scego. Prints are available on high-quality fine art paper or canvas. The fine art paper is archival quality with a 0.5” border and a semi-glossy/lustre finish that brings out the color values beautifully. The canvas is 0.75 inches at the frame, stretched, and pre-mounted with a hanging wire.
